SummerWorks Youth Application

Thank you for expressing interest in SummerWorks, an employment and mentorship program that pairs local employers with young adults aged 16-24. We encourage all young adults in this age group living and/or attending school in Washtenaw County to apply.  There are no right answers to these questions. Anyone in Washtenaw County is eligible to apply and we will use your responses to support you the best we can.
 
To be considered for SummerWorks, all required questions must be completed in order to ensure your eligibility. Your responses will also help us improve summer youth employment programming. Please only submit one application per young adult.

Please have the following items ready before applying:
• Parent/Guardian contact information
• Annual household income
• List of any benefits you and your family receive (Free or Reduced Lunch/SNAP/Bridge Card/TANF/Pell Grants

Important: If you are a parent, guardian, teacher, or other trusted adult assisting a young adult with this application, please be sure that the application has the young adults name, contact information, and responses.

Program Planning
The programming period for SummerWorks April 15th - August 23rd, 2025. Mentorship and internships will begin the week of June 17. Internships require 16 hours per week. Professional development requires 2 hours per week prior to June 13 and 4 hours per week afterwards (in addition to assignments).  If selected to be a part of SummerWorks, you are expected to commit this time to your internship, professional development, and other SummerWorks community events. You may be asked to make up participation in alternative ways if you have significant conflicts.
